What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is Australia’s first national scheme implemented to provide support for people living with a disability. It provides funding directly to individuals, as well as key information and connections to services—including doctors, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools.
The NDIS provides support to eligible people living with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disabilities. It is designed to provide financial aid for families and individuals effected by disability—helping them to live fulfilling and well-supported lives.
It should be noted that the NDIS is not a welfare scheme. The scheme is set up to let people with disabilities be able to improve their skills and independence as much as possible on an ongoing basis. The NDIS acknowledges that people are affected by disabilities in many ways. As such, it is set up to deliver tailored services for unique circumstances.
NDIS Pricing Arrangements
On the 1st of July each year, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) releases a new price guide. Officially titled the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, this guide sets out maximum amounts that can be charged for the costs of specific NDIS supports and services.
MyCare ensures that all pricing and service fees comply with the current NDIS price guide.
